FRANKIE formed in New York City in the late 2010s with a lineup that included Frankie Cosmos on vocals and guitar, Greta Kline on keyboards, Luke Crissman on drums, and Aaron Maine on bass. Their early albums like 'Zentropy' from 2014 had a raw, intimate quality, while later work incorporated more electronic elements. By 2020, they released 'New Obsession,' which gave the band its breakthrough moment.

The title track 'New Obsession' became their most recognizable song, but their catalog includes other tracks like 'Problems Problems,' 'Blackout,' 'Blink,' and 'Chaos.' In 2019, Kline was involved in a public dispute with a former collaborator, though the band continued working afterward.
