The original lineup included Dave Klein on vocals and guitar, Scott Sheridan on bass, James Conroy on guitar, Jason Kruck on drums, and Dave Schneider on keyboards. They released three albums: 'Open Your Mind to Freakadelika' in 1998, 'Beasts of the Beat' in 2000, and 'Freakadelika Live' in 2002.
The band's lineup changed over time - Kruck left in 2001 and was replaced by Mike Merritt on drums, and Schneider departed in 2004, leaving them as a quartet.
Freakadelika collaborated with artists including David Byrne, Beck, and the Beastie Boys. Their sound mixed psychedelic rock with funk and experimental elements, though their unconventional approach made them a difficult sell to record labels early on.
