Fredmoreno

Fredmoreno started as a duo in the late 2000s when childhood friends Fred and Moreno began playing together in Minas Gerais. They mixed traditional forró rhythms with pop and rock elements, which gave them a different sound from more conventional groups in the region. Their song 'Mina do Forró' caught on quickly and became their breakout single.

Their lyrics sometimes touched on social and political topics, which drew some criticism alongside the praise for their musical style. They kept recording through that, putting out albums like 'Forró Na Veia,' 'O Som do Povo,' and 'Alma Mineira' that brought in funk, reggae, and samba touches while keeping their base in forró.

The band's lineup has stayed mostly Fred on vocals and guitar, Moreno on vocals and accordion, with Géo on bass, Paulinho on drums, and Peu on percussion. They haven't shifted toward a purist forró sound, instead working that blend of traditional and contemporary that first got them attention.
