Fredson Santana formed his band in Salvador, Bahia, with his brother Flávio among the musicians. They worked through some early difficulties before finding their audience. In 2005, their song "Eu Sou da Bahia" caught on locally and helped them build a following. That track, along with others like "Aquele Que Está Feliz" and "Não Vivo de Ilusão," became staples in their set.
They released several albums, including "Esse É o Nosso Valor" in 2006 and a self-titled album in 2009. Their sound drew from Brazilian rhythms without trying to fuse them into something new. They played with a straightforward energy that worked well live.
At different points, the lineup included Marquinhos on bass, Marquinhos do Acordeon on accordion, and Guta on drums. They kept performing and recording through the 2010s, with "O Melhor do Brasil" coming out in 2013. Their music stayed grounded in the regional styles they came up with.
