F.R.E.I

F.R.E.I formed in Buenos Aires in the late 1990s with Pablo Romero on vocals, Esteban Serniotti on guitar, Federico Zibell on bass, and Marcelo Fuster on drums. Their debut album 'Mundo Obscuro' came out in 1999, and its title track became one of their early signatures. The band's sound drew from the city's darker corners, with lyrics that leaned toward existential themes.

They followed with albums like 'Despertar de la Sombra' in 2002 and 'El Sueño de la Razón' in 2005, working in elements of gothic rock and industrial music. Songs such as 'Nascer do Sol' and 'Catedral de Ilusiones' showed their range, from melodic to more experimental structures. Romero and Serniotti stayed at the center through various lineup shifts.

In the early 2000s, some listeners raised questions about occult imagery in their music, though nothing was ever proven. The band kept recording, putting out 'Ruido Blanco' in 2009. They occasionally collaborated with other Argentine musicians like vocalist Celeste Carballo and cellist Pablo Mainetti.
