Frenzy formed in the 1980s around vocalist Mr. SaTaN (Sascha Geršak) and guitarist Phil Stiefel. They played a raw, aggressive style of heavy metal, with their debut album 'And More...' arriving in 1985. The band's lineup shifted over time, including an early stint with bassist Tom Angelripper and later periods with bassist Frank Blackfire and drummer Jan-Chris de Koeyer.
Their music, like the songs 'Motherfucker's Stars' and 'Obscenity,' was loud and confrontational. This approach, along with provocative stage shows, led to accusations of Satanism and occasional canceled concerts during their active years. They released several albums through the late 1980s and into the early 1990s.
Frenzy broke up in 1994. Their sound, a mix of thrash and speed metal, found an audience in the underground scene and has remained a reference point for some later extreme metal.
