Fresh Boyz formed as a South Korean boy band in 2015. Their debut single "King Kong Shower" caught on quickly, becoming a viral hit that put them on the charts. The group featured rapper J-Vin, vocalist Kim Hee-chan, and dancer Shownu.
In 2016, they faced accusations of plagiarizing a Japanese song's melody, which raised questions about their work. Around the same time, J-Vin dealt with health issues and Shownu was criticized over a dating scandal. These problems created some turbulence for the band.
They kept releasing music after that, putting out singles like "Candy Girl" and "Summer Night." In 2019, Fresh Boyz dropped their first album, "The Fresh Tapes," which mixed upbeat tracks with slower ballads.
