Froner

Froner is a Portuguese band from Leiria, led by singer-songwriter André Tentúgal. They started working together in the early 2000s, with Tentúgal and musician Rui Costa sharing an interest in atmospheric, minimalist music. Their sound draws from artists like Sigur Rós and Radiohead, but they've developed their own approach over time.

Their debut album 'O Último Tango de Lisboa' came out in 2010, and its lead single 'Nevoeiro' became their breakthrough track. The song's piano chords and Tentúgal's vocals gave it a particular mood that connected with listeners. Other songs like 'Bandeira (Sem Frescura e Nem Tabu)' and 'Esquina do Sul do Mundo' show the range of their work.

They followed that album with 'Mar Salgado' in 2012, continuing to build their catalog. Some critics have found their music too somber compared to mainstream pop, but they've kept working in their own lane without much compromise.
