Archive material and source history

Front started playing in Santo Domingo around 2012. The band's sound pulls from merengue and bachata, mixed with pop and reggaeton touches. Their song 'Dengosa' came out in 2016 and caught on as a breakout track.

Sophie Durán sings lead, with Luigi Fortuna on guitar and production, Vinicio Altagracia on bass, and Ariel Santana on drums. They built a following through local shows before things took off. Another song, 'Olhos de Gata', is also among their well-known tracks.

In 2018, they put out 'Que Tengo Qué Hacer', which drew some criticism from conservative corners for its lyrics about female empowerment. The band stuck by it, and the song found an audience. They kept releasing music, including 'No Soy Tu Muñeca' in 2017 and 'La Moda' in 2019.
