Frontiera

Frontiera formed in Milan in the early 1970s, with Patrizio "Pato" Caroli as their frontman. Their debut single "Animale Metropolitano" became an anthem for many at the time, mixing rock with folk elements and lyrics that often touched on social issues. The band's music sometimes drew criticism from authorities and conservative groups, but they kept making records through the 70s and 80s.

They released albums like Musica Elettronica Viva in 1975 and Odissea in 1978, followed by Piazza Grande in 1980. Other songs like "Aspettando Momenti Migliori" and "Come La Pioggia" show their range from political commentary to more personal themes. The group included members like Alberto Camerini on keyboards, Lucio Fabbri on bass, and at times Demetrio Stratos on vocals and flute.

Frontiera disbanded in 1986, but their music has remained part of Italian rock history. Later releases like Sotto l'Insegna del Giglio in 1997 and Frammenti in 2000 collected earlier material and unreleased tracks.
