Frozen's Brazilian samba-pop partnership

The Rio de Janeiro band that mixed samba, reggae, and pop around the songwriting of Cristiane Lisbôa and Renato Rocha.

For a sense of their sound, 'Livre Estou' captures their early mix of samba and pop. 'Minha Intuição' shows another side of their catalog.

Frozen's debut album 'Mistura Fina' arrived in 1997 with a sound that blended samba rhythms with reggae and pop textures. The track 'Livre Estou' from that record became their most recognizable song, while other songs like 'Minha Intuição' and 'Vejo Uma Porta Abrir' showed their range.

Frozen formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1994 around the songwriting partnership of Cristiane Lisbôa and Renato Rocha. They released several albums over the following years, including 'A Porta do Mundo' in 1999 and 'Sóis' in 2004, with a lineup that included Bruno Aniceto on drums and André "Buguinha" Ramos on bass.
