Archive material and source history
Fukinotou formed in 1999 when vocalist Rei Fukazawa met guitarist Masayuki Sasahara. Their name translates to "flower path." The band's debut single "Fūraibō" came out in 2001 and found an audience with its ethereal sound and Fukazawa's raw vocals.
In 2005, Fukazawa was arrested for drug possession. The band went through some internal tensions around that time, with several members leaving. Fukazawa later wrote songs that reflected experiences of heartbreak and loss.
With new members including guitarist Masao Yoshioka and bassist Ryouji Watanabe, Fukinotou recorded more material. Their song "Shiroi Fuyu" appears among their notable tracks.
