FunFarra FestCore is a Brazilian band that mixes samba rhythms with hardcore punk. The group formed around vocalist Gustavo "Gordo" Barreto and guitarist Ricardo "Ric" Ferreira in the late 2000s. Their debut album 'FestCore Folia' came out in 2012 and gave the band its name.
That first record included songs like 'Hino' and 'Receita de Sucesso,' which helped define their sound. The music drew some criticism for being too unconventional, but it also found an audience. Later albums like 'Sombra e Sol' and 'Festa do Povo' followed in 2014 and 2016.
The band's lineup eventually included bassist Bruno "Bruxo" Souza and drummer André "Dré" Santos alongside Barreto and Ferreira. They released 'Reino do Absurdo' in 2020. Their song 'Receita de um fodido' appears among their most recognized tracks.
