They were led by Márcio Mello on vocals and guitar, with Alexandre Barros on bass, Marco Antônio Guimarães on drums, and Paulo Roberto Severiano on keyboards. Their first album, 'Boomerang,' came out in 1999 and included the song 'Bumerangue,' which became their biggest hit.
They followed with 'Um Grito na Noite' in 2002 and 'Estilhaços' in 2005. Other songs from their catalog include 'D. Pedro I,' 'Em Mim,' and 'Nicotina.' The band had a sound that mixed rock with pop and psychedelic elements, though some critics at the time found it too commercial.
Fungi developed a reputation for being somewhat mysterious, with rumors about their behavior offstage. They didn't stay together for a particularly long run, but 'Bumerangue' remained a recognizable track in Brazilian rock from that period.
