Futuro Incierto

Futuro Incierto formed in Bogotá, Colombia around 1997, with Pedro Rovetto on vocals and guitar, Felipe Mejía on bass, and Santiago Bernal on drums. They started out playing local bars and rehearsing in tight spaces, putting out their music on their own. Their early years were lean, but they kept at it.

Their 2001 album 'La Nueva Guerra' got attention for its political lyrics and raw sound. The song '121' from that period became one of their better-known tracks. Their music mixed rock with cumbia and electronic elements, which gave them a distinct place in Latin alternative circles.

They weren't afraid to speak their mind, and some of their lyrics about social issues drew criticism from more conservative listeners. But that directness also connected with fans who recognized their own frustrations in songs like '9 Años' and 'Aguas'. They kept writing and recording through the 2000s, putting out albums that reflected where they were at the time.
