G Squad

G Squad formed in Paris in 2004 with Faouzi, Kofs, and L'Algérino. Their debut album 'Les yeux dans la rue' came out in 2006, mixing rap with North African sounds. The track 'Aucune fille au monde' from that album became a major hit in France, though its lyrics about an ideal woman drew criticism at the time.

They kept releasing albums like 'Signature originale' in 2007 and 'Consécration' in 2011. Other songs like 'Le Temps De L'amour' and 'Touché en plein coeur' show their range beyond just rap anthems. The members also worked on solo projects while staying together as a group.

Faouzi handled much of the vocal work with a socially conscious edge, while Kofs focused on wordplay and L'Algérino brought Algerian musical elements into the mix. They collaborated with other French rappers including Booba and Rohff. Their music found an audience in France's rap scene during the late 2000s and early 2010s.
