Gabriel Britto grew up in Cidade Tiradentes, a neighborhood in São Paulo. He found his way into music through Brazilian samba and hip-hop, with Bob Marley and Gilberto Gil among his influences.
His song 'Somos Iguais' became known for its message about equality. The track appeared on his 2015 album of the same name, which was followed by 'Tambores de Resistência' in 2018 and 'Liberdade É Pra Todos' in 2020.
Britto performs with a band that includes Bruno Mesquita on bass, Thiago Oliveira on drums, and Camila Prestes on backing vocals. His music often addresses social themes, and he has faced criticism for his outspoken lyrics.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
