Archive material and source history
Gaia Hardcore formed in Lisbon around 2005, with Ricardo Castro on vocals, Hugo Gaia on bass, and Mário Pereira on guitar. Their music is hardcore, with guttural vocals and heavy riffs, and they've often written about social and political issues. Their debut album was called 'Correntes', which is also the title of one of their songs.
Over time, the lineup changed. Hugo Gaia and Mário Pereira left, and Miguel Marinho and David Pimenta joined on bass and guitar. They kept making music, releasing albums like 'Mundo de Vazio' in 2008, 'Destruição' in 2010, and 'Unidos' in 2015. Other songs in their catalog include 'Fénix', 'Uma Luta, Uma Vitória', and 'O Lado Escuro Da Vida'.
Their lyrics sometimes got them into trouble. They've played a lot of underground shows and built a following that shares their concerns about injustice and corruption.
