Gaiola da Supremacia

Gaiola da Supremacia was a four-piece rap group from the outskirts of São Paulo, Brazil. The members were DJ Gordo, Afro-X, Tunguenão, and KL Jay. Their lyrics often dealt with poverty, racial injustice, and political corruption, which drew both a following and criticism. They faced legal challenges from authorities who accused them of inciting violence and promoting drug use.

Their debut album was called "Rap é Compromisso!" and it became an instant classic in Brazilian hip-hop. They followed it with albums like "O Embate do Século" and "Sob Pressão." One of their songs, "Dizimo de Chocolate," became something of an anthem. Their music mixed traditional Brazilian rhythms with hard-hitting hip-hop, and it resonated with young people across the country.
