Background notes

Archive material and source history

Gaman was an alternative rock duo from New York City active in the early 2000s, consisting of vocalist Chris Conley and guitarist Mike Ramos. Their sound mixed rock with electronic elements, and they released their debut album 'Whatever Happened to the Great American Band?' in 2002. That same year, their single 'Hey Baby' became their breakthrough track.

After their debut, they put out two more albums: 'Picture Show' in 2004 and 'Lovesick' in 2006. The band broke up in 2007, but 'Hey Baby' continued to get radio play and appeared in some films and TV shows.
