Gamberroz formed in Havana in the late 1980s, a Cuban rock band that found an audience despite operating under difficult circumstances. Their debut album 'Pa'l Pueblo' came out in 1991, and they became known for energetic live shows. The song 'Contigo' from 2001 gained wider attention when it appeared in the Cuban film 'Fresa y Chocolate'.
Their music sometimes ran into trouble with authorities, facing censorship and canceled concerts. Other songs in their catalog include 'Quisiera,' 'Culo peludo,' and 'Gays.'
Over time, the band's lineup included Tony Pinelli on vocals, Yordi Larraz on drums, Hansel Arrocha on bass, Juan Carlos Reynoso on guitar, and Leonardo Acosta on piano and keyboards. They released several more albums including 'Haragan' in 1994, 'Tiempos Nuevos' in 1998, and 'Sin Fronteras' in 2010.
