Gambiaha formed in Serekunda, the Gambia, in 2003. The group included Alhagie Mbye, known as Fadiga, on vocals, Abdoulie Demba on drums, and Lamin Saho on guitar.
Their track "Bunda de Mosquito" became popular soon after they started, mixing traditional Gambian rhythms with Afrobeat. They also recorded songs like "Mais Dias, Menos Dias." The band released albums including "Bunda de Mosquito" in 2003, "Wolof Style" in 2005, "Africa Unite" in 2008, and "The Gambian Sound" in 2012.
Gambiaha played at festivals like the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and WOMAD. They won a Kora Award for Best Traditional Artist in 2004.
