Crash Course in Polite Conversation

It's been a long day and I'm so tired

I nearly drank my voice away last night

But that never stops me

There's just something about this place

And I wouldn't need a doctor

To diagnose my case

So alive but barely awake

And you seem like you'd make a good friend

And the empty space between

Filled with miles of concrete

Under yellow lights

On a crash course in polite conversation

From the left side to the right side

Night after night
