Their name came from combining the surnames of three members: vocalist Gardar Sviggum, guitarist Thor Kulsrud, and keyboardist Cortes. They released three albums between 1986 and 1988, starting with 'Hunting High and Low' in 1986.
Their music mixed elements of folk, classical, and electronic sounds, which made them stand out from more conventional Norwegian acts at the time. The title track 'Hunting High and Low' became their most recognizable song, though its lyrics about loss and longing were sometimes interpreted in different ways by listeners.
They followed up with 'When Dream and Day Unite' in 1988, which included the song 'Wake Me Up.' Their recordings have a particular atmospheric quality that comes from Sviggum's vocal delivery and the layered instrumentation. After their third album, the group stopped releasing new material.
