Background notes

Archive material and source history

Garvey formed in 2004 when Gavin DeGraw joined guitarist Brandon Abernethy, bassist Mike Malament, and drummer Billy Mohler. They took their name from the Irish revolutionary Michael Collins. Their debut album 'Smiling Through It All' came out in 2007 and included the single 'Sinner,' which got regular radio play.

After some lineup changes and public difficulties, the band returned in 2016 with 'Songs for the Hourglass.' They've since released 'Face the Music' in 2018 and 'Caution' in 2022.
