Gary B & The Notions came out of the Boston area in the late 1960s, led by vocalist Gary Baker. They had a hit in 1968 with 'Amy,' which went to the top of the charts. The band included John Locke on guitar, David Rosenstein on bass, and David Paton on drums.
They released a few albums in quick succession: their self-titled debut in 1968, a follow-up in 1969, and 'To Live for You' in 1970. Another song, 'Stranger,' also appears among their notable tracks. The group broke up in 1971.
Gary Baker died in 2009 at age 61. The remaining members got back together for some live shows in 2018.
