Their music chronicled rural life, with songs like 'Quando O Aço Da Tesoura Perdeu O Fio Pra Tosquia' becoming an anthem about the hardships of shearers. They released their debut album of the same name in 1978.
Martins handled lyrics and vocals, while Ávila provided guitar and harmonies. Other songs in their catalog include 'Rancheira Sul-brasileira' and 'Estrada Longa'.
They continued recording through the 1980s and released a compilation in 1998. Their music remains part of the tradition of Brazilian folk storytelling from the southern plains.
