Archive material and source history
Gaudi was a London-based quartet that formed in 1998, with John Boyd on vocals and keyboards, Paul Stewart on bass, Simon Leonard on guitar, and Mark Matthews on drums. They put out their first album, 'Get Into the Apple,' in 2002. The title track from that record became something of a calling card for them, built around an electronic beat and Boyd's vocals.
They kept releasing albums through the 2000s and into the 2010s, including 'The Glassblower's Children' in 2004 and 'Chapters' in 2013. Their sound mixed electronic and rock elements, which drew both fans and some critical skepticism at the time. The band faced some legal issues over copyright claims during their run.
