Gauzze formed in São Paulo in 2011 with Pedro Martins on vocals and guitar, Gabriel Marques on bass, and Breno Penna on drums. Their debut album 'Infinito' came out in 2016, followed by 'Inexistente' in 2018 and the EP 'Para Onde as Ondas Vão' in 2020.
In 2016, the band faced plagiarism accusations regarding their song 'Balão' from that first album. Critics said it sounded similar to work by Brazilian artist Cazuza. Gauzze denied the claims and kept making music.
Their sound pulls from dream pop and shoegaze, with some Brazilian folk elements in the mix. They've worked with other artists including Lucy Rose, Majur, and Boogarins.
