Gedvan Medeiros grew up in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará, where he started writing songs early. He moved to São Paulo and joined the band Águas Lindas in 1991. His solo career began in 1996 with the album 'Entre o Céu e o Inferno,' but it was his 1999 album 'Toca em Mim' that brought him wider attention in Brazilian gospel music.
His song 'Preciso Ser Fiel' became particularly well-known. In 2005, he faced accusations of marital infidelity that affected his career for a time. He continued recording, with albums like 'Deus é Fiel' and 'A Cruz e o Trono' following in the early 2000s.
He has worked with musicians including Jailton Santos on guitar, Wilson Correia on bass, Gilmar Souza on drums, and Ronaldo Souza on keyboards. Another of his songs, 'Vou Adorar,' also found an audience among his listeners.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
