Grupo Gee formed in Mexico City in 1986. Their 1991 debut album, 'A Kiss Before She Goes,' gave them a breakthrough with its title track, a ballad that connected with listeners. The band's lineup included Jorge Solares and Luis Eduardo 'Eddie' Ibarra on vocals, with Víctor García on bass and Roberto Edmundo 'Beto' Meléndez on guitar.
Ibarra left the group in 1992, and they brought in Alejandro Alanís and Roberto Carlos 'Bobby' Rodríguez. They kept recording through the '90s and early 2000s with albums like 'Te Amaré,' 'Huellas de Amor,' and 'Sentimientos.' Some of their songs, including 'Cancer' and 'Ah, Todo Quiero Saber Todo Quiero,' also appeared in Spanish versions.
After a hiatus around 2008, they regrouped in 2012 and have continued to play shows. Their music, built around romantic ballads, still gets played on Latin radio stations.
