Gee & Junior were a Brazilian samba duo from Rio de Janeiro, formed in the 1960s by Geraldo Azevedo and José Carlos Abrantes. Their song "Chora" became one of their most recognizable tracks, along with "Fragmentado na Emoção." They released albums including a self-titled debut in 1963 and "Samba do Povo" in 1970.
Their music blended samba with bossa nova harmonies, which drew some criticism from traditionalists at the time. Gee died of a heart attack in 1982, after which Junior continued performing and composing on his own.
