Geef formed in Mexico City in 2007 with Carlos Noriega on vocals and guitar, Alberto Martínez on bass, and Iván Nieves on drums. They played a mix of alternative rock and punk, though early on they had to work through financial constraints and a lack of recognition.

Their 2013 single 'Facciones' brought them wider attention in Mexico. The song's lyrics drew some criticism for their subject matter, but the band kept recording. They put out albums like 'Origen,' 'Retorno,' and 'Reinterpretación,' which incorporated folk and electronic touches alongside their rock foundation.

Geef has worked with other artists, including Julieta Venegas and Toy Selectah. The three core members have stayed together through the years, with Noriega's vocals and lyrics often driving the material.
