Geek MC formed in 1997 in the Jardim Iguatemi neighborhood of São Paulo, with rappers MC Max and Helião and DJ Fábio. Their music came directly from what they saw around them in their community.
Their debut album 'Falamundo' came out in 1999, followed by '4Real/Espinhos' in 2001. The title track from that album became one of their most recognized songs. They released two more albums, 'Contra o Mundo' in 2003 and 'Dj De Frente' in 2006.
Their lyrics were direct about social conditions and sometimes drew criticism for it. They saw their music as reflecting real experiences rather than promoting anything.
