Generación formed in Lima, Peru in the early 1990s, with Cristián Meier on vocals and Gian Marco Zignago on guitar. Their song 'Causa Neñaña' became their most recognizable track, appearing on their 1996 album 'Con los Ojos Cerrados.'
Their sound mixed Peruvian rhythms with rock and pop, which drew some criticism at the time. The band also included Renzo Bravo on drums, Wicho García on bass, and Percy Céspedez on keyboards.
They released other albums like 'La Banda del Patio' in 1998 and 'Generación 2000' the following year. Another song of theirs, 'Regalo de Amor,' appears among their top tracks.
