Her Way Home

She sits beside a candlelight, a naked flame

Upon the walls a shadow falls, her perfect shape

She's buried deep, her memory she prayed would go away

But it's only getting closer

She gently sighs and slips inside a dress she made

The deepest red with golden thread and silver lace

She breathes in deep, she lifts her feet and steps out in the rain

And it's falling on her shoulders

And the silent night, she tries to light her cigarette

She burns her throat inhales the smoke into her chest

And out she breathes the memory she's dying to forget

But this pain is going nowhere

She takes a ride, she's only trying to get away

She leaves behind the lonely nights and empty days

And prays she'll find a place to hide, a candlelight embrace

But there's no one there to hold her
