Gerson Soares is a Brazilian gospel singer from Cambuí, Minas Gerais, born in 1965. He grew up in a musical family where his father directed a choir and his mother sang in church. In his early twenties, he moved to São Paulo and joined the gospel choir Quarto Elemento.
His debut solo album came out in 1991, featuring the song 'Nasceu o Rei.' That track became a Christmas staple in Brazil, known for its emotive melody. Another song, 'Meu Socorro,' also appears among his notable works.
Soares has released over twenty studio albums and worked with artists like Aline Barros and Fernandinho. His brother Sérgio played guitar in his band, and his wife Elaine sang vocals.
