It's just a temporary slide back in the abyss

I should have seen it coming from miles away

And've been armed in a thick coated structure

Shielding me from my own blazing dagger

There was purpose on the horizon

A destination

Tangible and fragrant

It's not surprising i should find myself flaying

Having crossed the bridge of certainty

Back behind enemy lines with no work 'til tuesday

I didn't even buckle the temptation

Got down with little to do and welcoming old habits like a long lost friend

To spite you

Egged on, by weakening days

Giving themself up to the strings of a menacing darkness

The shrinking hours of life are grey and feeble

The soggy tree inside driving at ease in defeat

The temperature falls

The big light switch on

And from time to time fireworks frighten the cats
