GFOTY (pronounced "go-tee") started as a bedroom project around 2014, with singer and producer Lexi Gonzalez working alongside multi-instrumentalist Jake Liebman. Their early EP "Tears for the Boys" came out of that period, and the track "Cool (feat. Chema Diaz)" eventually became their breakout single.
Their sound leans into electro-pop with straightforward rhythms and Gonzalez's vocals carrying most of the melodic weight. Songs like "Friday Night" and "Tongue" have that same direct, slightly introspective quality that runs through their catalog.
They've put out a few more releases since then, including another EP called "Don't Look Away" and a full-length album titled "You Could Be the One." The music hasn't changed dramatically from those early recordings, it's still built around Gonzalez's voice and Liebman's production, with the occasional collaboration like the one with Chema Diaz on "Cool."
