Gian e Giovani were a Brazilian duo from Rio Claro, São Paulo, formed in 1981 by Gianni Cattaneo and Giovani Nardi. They signed with Som Livre and released their first album, 'Sem Limite de Idade,' in 1983. Gianni handled lead vocals and guitar, while Giovani provided harmony vocals and keyboards.
Their 1984 song 'O Grande Amor da Minha Vida (Convite de Casamento)' became a national hit in Brazil, often played at weddings. Other popular tracks included 'Nem Dormindo Consigo Te Esquecer,' 'Espuma da Cerveja,' and 'Roupa de Lua de Mel.' They released albums steadily through the 1980s and early 1990s, with titles like 'Nosso Amor,' 'Canções de Amor,' and 'Para Sempre.'
They recorded a live album in 1992.
