Gibb Andy

Andy Gibb was the youngest brother of the Bee Gees, and he had a brief but memorable run as a solo pop singer in the late 1970s. His first single, 'I Just Want To Be Your Everything,' went to number one in the U.S. in 1977. He followed it with other hits like '(Love Is) Thicker Than Water' and 'An Everlasting Love.'

He was born in England but grew up in Australia, where his older brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice had already formed the Bee Gees. Andy's sound was similar to theirs, smooth, romantic pop with a disco undercurrent, and Barry wrote or co-wrote many of his biggest songs. For a few years, he was a regular on the charts and on television, appearing on shows like 'Solid Gold' and hosting 'Saturday Night Live.'

His career slowed down in the early 1980s, and he struggled with personal issues. He died in 1988 at age 30. The songs he left behind, especially 'I Just Want To Be Your Everything,' still turn up on oldies radio and playlists, a reminder of that late-'70s moment when the Gibb family sound was everywhere.
