Gibbed

Gibbed came out of Detroit in the early 1990s with a sound that was both technical and punishing. Their debut album, 'Brain Mutilation,' gave the band its name and established their approach: guttural vocals, serrated guitar work, and percussive intensity that felt more like a controlled demolition than a simple song. Tracks like 'Inevitable Dread' and 'Repulse The Life' followed a similar blueprint, built on a foundation of thunderous bass and relentless drumming.

While the music was extreme, it was the lyrical themes and song titles that drew particular attention. The band faced accusations of promoting violence, but they largely kept to themselves and continued working.

They released a handful of albums through the 1990s and early 2000s, including 'Cerebral Devastation' and 'Mindshatter,' which further explored dark psychological territory. The music remained a niche interest, but it found a dedicated audience in the underground metal scene that appreciated its unyielding brutality and technical precision.
