Gigi D'Alessio was born Luigi D'Alessio in Naples in 1967. He started playing piano and guitar as a child, drawing from the traditional Neapolitan music around him.
His debut album "Te Quiero Tanto" came out in 1992 and went platinum. The record mixed those Neapolitan sounds with contemporary pop, a combination that stuck with listeners. Songs like "Cosa Te Ne Fai Di Un Altro Uomo" and "Amico Cameriere" became fixtures in his catalog.
He kept recording through the 1990s and 2000s, putting out albums like "Fuori dal Mondo," "Un Nuovo Amore," and "Made in Italy."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
