Gilson Macedo and Gabriel Chadan started playing music together as teenagers in Governador Valadares, a town in Minas Gerais. They formed a band in 1995 and began performing locally. Their debut album came out in 2000, featuring the song "Pra Te Esperar," which became popular in Brazil.
In 2003, Gabriel was diagnosed with leukemia and underwent treatment for about two years. Gilson supported him through that period. Around 2006, there were accusations that "Pra Te Esperar" had been plagiarized, but those claims were eventually dismissed.
They kept recording music after that, putting out albums like "Encantamento" in 2002 and "Acústico" in 2006. Gilson sang and played guitar, while Gabriel handled vocals and bass.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
