Girls of the Night was an all-female quartet from Los Angeles. The band included lead singer Anya Celeste, guitarist Raven Blackwood, bassist Sarah Phoenix, and drummer Anya "Hurricane" Henderson. They started playing shows around LA, developing a sound that mixed rock with pop melodies.
In 2007, they released their debut single "Fashion," a song about the fashion world's superficiality. The track got attention and brought the band into the mainstream. Some critics accused them of glamorizing eating disorders, which the band denied.
