Girlyboi formed in Seoul in 2012 with Lee Seon-gyu on vocals, Jo Sim on guitar and production, and Bae Hak-geon on bass. They put out their debut EP 'I Am Sorry' in 2015, which mixed R&B, pop, and electronica. Their first full album came two years later with 'Whole', and its title track became one of their most recognizable songs.
That 2017 album 'Whole' also included tracks like 'Actual Woman' and 'Good Looks'. They followed it with the EP 'Perennial' in 2018 and the album 'Feeling' in 2019. Around that time, there was some noise about a plagiarism claim involving their song 'Blind', but it didn't stick.
Their catalog has songs like 'Vanity Fair' and 'Whatever' that show their range. They've kept a steady output from Seoul without much of the usual drama that follows some acts.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
