Gisele Afeche grew up in Araguari, Minas Gerais, where she started singing and writing songs early on. Her music draws from Brazilian samba and bossa nova, though she didn't gain much attention at first in a crowded local scene. Things changed in 2010 when her song 'A Felicidade' was picked as the theme for the soap opera 'Passione,' which brought her a wider audience.
After that, she put out several albums that moved between samba and MPB, working with musicians like Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso. She performs with a band called Gisele Afeche & Sambadeiras, and has done shows with pianist João Carlos Martins. Other songs in her catalog include 'Alegria de Viver' and 'Amor de Amiga.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
