Givanildo is a Brazilian quartet that formed in Salvador, Bahia in 2016. Their music pulls from the local sounds of axé and samba, mixed with funk and Afrobeat. The band is led by Paulo Novaes.
In 2018 they put out their first album, 'Tudo É Seu.' One track from it, 'Futuro em Marte,' became particularly well-known. They followed that with a second album called 'Nação dos Sonhos' in 2021.
They've worked with other Brazilian musicians including BaianaSystem, Elza Soares, and Carlinhos Brown. Their lyrics sometimes touch on social issues, which has drawn some criticism along the way.
