Given the Day formed in Seattle in 2005 with Alex Vitali on vocals and guitar, Andrew Carr on bass, and Justin Lowry on drums. Their debut album came out in 2008, and the single 'You Got Served' got them some national attention.
They put out a few more records after that, like 'Things Are Now' in 2011 and 'Evergreen' in 2018. Some of their other songs include 'Huh? I Thought I Ordered a Large' and 'Take These Hands.'
In 2010, Vitali was diagnosed with cancer, which led to a break from touring. The band has also faced criticism over their lyrics, which they've denied.
