GIVĒON Evans grew up in Long Beach, California, where he started performing at open mics and local competitions. In 2019, his song 'Like I Want You' caught on, a slow, moody track that felt honest and direct. That led to his first EP, Take Time, in 2020, which included 'Heartbreak Anniversary' and 'Stuck On You.'
His voice is a low, resonant baritone that doesn't rush. The songs tend to sit in that space between late-night R&B and something more conversational, like the writing of Frank Ocean or the delivery of Musiq Soulchild. In 2022, he put out a full album called Give or Take.
There was some noise around him in 2021, when he denied allegations that came up online. He kept releasing music through it. The work stays pretty focused on the same themes, wanting someone, missing them, the quiet aftermath, songs like 'For Tonight' and 'Lost Me' are good examples of that.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
